Located at the entrance to the beautiful Perryville City Park, the two story brick house was designed and built in 1881 by German immigrant, Joseph Duerr, a local butcher and his wife, Mary (Broeker) Duerr.
The museum was opened in May of 1990 by Curator Nancy Moore. As each room was completed, a new phase began. The four major rooms are: Children, Parlor, Kitchen and School/Medical. Displays are also found in the hallways and stairway. You will be surprised at the vast amount of items on display to bring back memories for the older generation and to amaze and amuse the younger ones.
Since 2014 the Hart family has been Curators of the Perry County Musuem with Nancy Moore remaining as Historian and Mentor. |
